I seem to recall the discussion arising a couple of years ago when Qwest was trying to sell the long-haul network. Yup, greedy busters... and they advertise certain prices for dsl, which are misleading since they still force you to get at least basic phone service. My $20, sorry now $25, dsl is really $28 extra for the local service I don't even use. So, DSL is really $54 per month...

Mark can you point to the industry benchmarks or reports that state this or where you got it from? I think that's a pretty bold statement. What I have been reading is that AMD isn't close to Intel on Performance and this will be the case for a long time...

I chose not to get into discussions of any single individual or draw the analogies to Motorola although it was tempting. Many can see the parallels due to the fact that many current AMD executives came from Motorola. AMD is a good company with great engineers and technology. It just needs some leadership to realize the potential locked away.

His reputation was a manager who was excellent in setting metrics which benefited his career to the detriment of the company. He was not missed at Motorola and many foresaw a bleak future for AMD upon his arrival. Hopefully, posts such as yours will help the board understand

Hey, You need to check out the new chipset "SPIDER". These new chipset integrate AMD's new "true" quad core processors and ATI's graphic sets. Barcelona was a bit premature, but, they have gotten past the mistakes made with the development. Also, AMD also has some leading technology with the new LCD chipsets. I think AMD is competing with AMD and also define itself in some other stategic areas!

My Airave took time to acquire a GPS signal. The 4 hours seems about right. I don't know why it took so long. Subsequent acquisitions did not take that long. Apparently they DO authenticate the Airave's location against the service area. Thanks Andy for confirming it for us.

BTW, Sprint tech support tells me it can take up to 4 hours for the GPS light to go blue. Apparently they are authenticating something against a signal coming from a Sprint tower so you need to make sure the receiver is in a place that's able to pick up a signal

According to the salesperson that sold me mine, the service will only activate if the GPS determines you're within the billing zip code on the account. But getting the thing working is proving to be painful. I still can't get the damn GPS light to go blue, even when I stick the GPS antenna outside...

I would suggest dumping Comcast and going with the Qwest Bonded service offering that should be trialed in your aear soon. That's why Verzion Fios and AT&T UVerse are much better prodcuts than anything Comcast has to offer, plus with Verizon and AT&T you get the NFL network to boot!!!!

I do not know the frequency band that they use. I recommend asking the company. The P2P protocol is really frequency independent. It could operate on any licensed or unlicensed bands. Their literature says that they could even operate in GSM bands if a "traditional" carrier wants it.
